LAN, Cabling (UTP/Fibre) & Wi-Fi Maintenance

Installations, support and maintenance at department of Education at various schools that connects to the Gauteng Broadband Network (GBN) includes the following:

  • New installations: networking devices such as switches, routers and Wi-Fi Access Points
  • New structured cabling that includes fibre for campus networking at schools and inter class connectivity via UTP
  • New camera solutions that includes both cameras and the control units, also ensuring streaming to servers at Educational Head Office
  • Physical access control via Biometric solutions at all entrances or at main gates or doors
  • Maintenance that includes repairs to networking infrastructures damaged due to vandalisms, human errors, faulty or negligence
  • Maintenance when Internet network is down on the LAN side only. Might be Switches, Wi-Fi or Cabling

 

Data Centre Infrastructure Solution

Successfully installed 3 x Environmental Racks at the Head Office data centre over a weekend and executed the following:

  • Installed 3 x Environmental cabinets in the data Centre
  • All existing equipment such as Core Switches, servers, Wi-Fi Controllers and UTP and fiber patch panels were reinstalled in the 3 new cabinets
  • All equipment was inter connected with path panels and UTP and fibres cables
  • All connectivity was tested to the servers and core devices
  • Outside connectivity were also tested I.E to the Internet via GBN connectivity
  • The Wi-Fi services were also tested and working
  • The bio metric solution was configured for DED support staff and the Air Con and Fire detection were tested
  • The alerts were configured for DED support staff and alerts are sent via Mail and SMS
